Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child, made her way into Harvard Yard on Thursday, Sept. 7. Over the last year Amal has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees. Since July 2021, Amal has traveled over 6,000 miles and been welcomed by more than a million people, including hundreds of artists and civil society and faith leaders, as well as by tens of millions online. She made her way to Harvard via Boston, where she landed in Dewey Square.
